Summary[]
Obi meets with the mysterious flirtatious woman from the inn, revealing that he knows her and her comment about him being too dangerous was a coded message for him to meet with her. She attacks him, but it quickly turns out to be a test Obi was expecting of her as they haven't seen each other in three years and she's not going to ask for help from someone whose lost their touch. Obi informs her he's lost his appetite for illegal jobs and while she's surprised she explains her current gig is the perfectly legal task of tracking down a runaway. As they arrive at the runaway's expected hideout Obi starts regretting coming, or at least regretting that he didn't bring a horse as he realizes he's not going to be back by dawn and that Mitsuhide and Zen are going to be annoyed with him.
Obi's old coworker tricks Obi and her target's bodyguard into a fight, which Obi quickly leaves as he has no intention of acting as her distraction. He ends up having to catch her when she slips of the roof fighting the bodyguard and they're both left with cuts and scrapes from the encounter. Once everything seems settled and Obi is eager to set off to catch up with his "master and mistress" he suddenly notices there's someone else in the supposedly deserted villa, only for it to turn out to be Shirayuki, Zen and the others who were worried about him and not about to leave without him. Obi's old acquaintance flirts with Mitsuhide some more and is shocked that Obi willingly allows Zen and Shirayuki to see and treat his injures as in the past he avoided others when injured and didn't trust anyone enough to let them get so close.
