Mitsuhide and Kiki are at the Sereg Knight base, where they've finished training with the knights. Hisame thanks them for humouring their requests, and that in lieu of the captain's absence that night, Hisame will be in charge if they need anything. He also adds that the lock to the room assigned to Kiki is broken and nobody is able to get in. Since Mitsuhide was assigned to a room with three beds, Kiki will be boarding with him.
While Kiki appears unfazed by the arrangement, Mitsuhide is uncomfortable with sharing a room with Kiki. Unable to sleep, he tells Kiki that the arrangement is too much for his heart to take, which makes Kiki laugh. They decide to ask Hisame for a solution. Hisame remarks he thought Mitsuhide would have trouble with the arrangement and offers to let Kiki borrow his room, which has a working lock. An annoyed Mitsuhide comments that Hisame could have offered his room to Kiki from the start.
